The dial of the 5227G-010 is of course not of that heavenly quality and vibrancy like the 5370P enamel dials but still a very nice substitute π
Also the case of this reference is pretty special with its notches at the lugs and of course the invisibly-hinged case back. Thatβs all very well made with a lot of love and attention for the details. If a 39 mm case is matching your wrist, this Calatrava is definitely a keeper.
I often have problems with the original PP straps. PP is having them produced by Camille Fournet Paris who is making very high quality straps in general but the PP straps are very often way too stiff and without charisma for my taste. A perfect strap can make a very good watch even better but this is most of the time not the case with the PP straps, imho.
I am buying straps from the maker Jean Paul Menicucci from Tuscany, Italy. He is pretty well known in the watch community worldwide and a very correct and reliable guy. www.jeanpaulmenicucci.com
Lotβs of his products are for sale at my friend Bernhardβs website www.bulangandsons.com from the Netherlands. Bernhard is a strap and accessories dealer and also offers lots of great watches.
