This is SO heartbreaking!
It makes me extremely angry that these stories are becoming more and more common with Patek Philippe. This type of thing may well be the true cost of all the modernizing and the building of “new manufactures” I love the brand, but I am beginning to realize that the brand I was in love with really existed 20 or 30 ( or 50 or 100 years ago). As they have grown, they have taken their eye off of the goal that brought them to fame and success in the first place. This is sad. Certainly they will put things right ( hopefully very very quickly). The point is that you should not have to deal with this sort of aggravation from “The Top Brand in Watchmaking”. I own some modern Patek Philippe pieces and like them very much. This just should not happen. Maybe in 5 or 10 years after a lot of daily wear. The fact is, I would rather have my AD open the watch far ahead of the time that I come to collect it. The AD should have a VERY good look at the piece and determine for themselves that ALL IS WELL. I don’t need the “honor” of cutting open a plastic bag from Switzerland. I hope you get your watch soon and that it is a CHAMP of a timepiece. Please keep us posted.

It is frustrating, but you are in good hands
Of course this is not right or acceptable. But do not worry as it is not about quality control, it is simply the result of various (sometimes careless) handlings. The good news is you spotted it in time and it will not be too long before you get a replace...

yes, it was sealed I cut the seal myself
My AD is great, the watch was sealed and he waited for me to cut the seal. I just hope the next one is perfect in every way.
These things are always unfortunate, but you can at least be reassured Patek will work to fix that issue with the highest standards.
I can’t honestly imagine the watch will again come back to you with problems, especially at that price point (or at any price point!). Make sure to open again the watch in front of your AD😉Keep us posted.

Very disappointing . They market watches as being hand finished and inspected, yet we see models with dial defects and movement defects leaving the factory. I’m a patek customer myself and find this ridiculous.

I don't know how this watch passed quality control. They claim to test the watch for weeks, so how could they miss a Chronograph that didn't work?
Being a mechanical part, anything is possible.
But for them to sell a 200k watch with misaligned hour markers - no excuses there!

I solved the problem! Our dear @Patek_ambassador, not to long ago reported similar chronograph issue, meaning it’s the same watchmaker!🧐

5 to 10 years later
It shouldn't happen in 5 to 10 years either. In fact, I'm against servicing a watch that's running well. I am wearing a 12 year old Patek now and there is no way I would send it in for service. It's running well, so no reason to have the back opened up.

Nothing in life is perfect...
The more complex a mechanism , the more likelihood of something going wrong. The important thing is that the manufacturer takes ownership and makes it right. In that regard PP is excellent.
