This is a really serious issue.
I'm sorry for your experience, but this has wide implications and you may choose to raise this with PP direct because, either way, there is a reputation killing problem here. Either:
(I) PP's vaunted QC processes have fallen short and require urgent attention; or
(II) the seal/packaging on your watch was not authentic. If this is the case there is fraud afoot and PP should investigate rigorously.
The third possibility is that, somehow, the scratches occurred through the packaging. Seems implausible to me, but...
Due to possibility (II) I'm afraid that you cannot rely on an explanation from your AD alone. Of course you need to be fully comfortable that the scratches did not occur in your custody, but that seems unlikely given what you say.

I never had this issue before but this indeed is very disappointing.
One would balk to notice a scratch on a brand new $200 seiko. Here is a 100k watch. One or two micro scratch is fine. This looks like it has been worn and dragged across table.

I would call out by name this AD so other forum members could beware of their practices. Was it an actual Patek AD or a secondary dealer. Shame on them if it was an actual Patek AD and Geneva should be advised!

For a 100k watch I think they should have disclosed that information. I never bought a watch with this condition ever doc. Not even for my Casio. I would update what they say either way.

PP selling sealed watches
is nutty to me. Never accept a watch you cannot inspect fully before buying. Buying something sealed makes no sense at all. You would never buy anything else mechanical without checking it out so why buy a watch without kicking the tires.
Does the certificate have your name and address printed on it?
You are one of the earliest poster to receive this watch. Just wondering if the watch sold to you is not a floor model for AD to see or show their customers early on about the anniversary models. If it is, it may still be new and unsold, but not scratchle...

Those are the proper way to treat sold watches.
I think almost all dealers in Asia saran wrap their pieces for fear of incurring scratches whatnot.

it sounds like the watch was opened, shown (at least - if not actually tried on and worn), then re-sealed. I would DEFINITELY bring it up with the AD first, and if no response, then with PP, directly. -Dean

There is another innocent possibility which I think is most likely what happened. I would be surprised if the watch had been unsealed by your AD,
meaning no one else wore the watch. Sometimes gold watches, which are a very soft metal can get an abrasion(s) from the plastic touching the watch, particularly if the watch moves a bit in the plastic or possibly if the sealed watch is handled, eg to show...
