Last year I was in the market for a Patek rattrapante, budget was not a consideration as I was celebrating a special occasion. Firstly, I agonised over the 5204P, before I concluded that it lacked something and that I was mesmerised by it for the wrong reasons. The 5372P was a tougher choice, it is a whirlwind affair of case, movement and dial, but the proportions were ever so slightly off in the metal. Strangely I had not seen nor considered the 5370P, until i was shown it during a visit to London, it was love at first sight, hands down, no contest!
In hindsight, I still feel it was the correct choice, the 5372P is rarer and may one day be an auction superstar, but nothing in the current Patek lineup comes close to the 5370P for me. Besides the 5178 or 5531 would be a better option in that price bracket.
