The 3940 is all of the above but not cool. It has a perfection to it that is probably unique. However, the danger is that sometimes too much perfection can make us lose the excitement in the long run.

There are LOTS of perpetual calendar watches that I think are excellent (almost too many to name!) but very few non-Patek world times that I appreciate. Svend Andersen... Krayon (if that counts)... Lange and Nomos both have really good full city ring watc...

I don't really consider the world time function to be a practical complication.
There's too much daylight savings time back-and-forth across the world. It's all about the romance of *representing* the whole world at once.

But I suspect our subjectivities overlap on this one--I have the same suspicion about the 3940 for me in the long run, and for the same reasons do not fear for the 5110. I think I'd better keep the 5110.
