Indeed, I really know what I'm going to get: I have decided a couple of time to have 5040, as many times 5100 and the same applies to 5059... I guess many here know the feeling.
I also have too many watches (even I have reduced the number of them dramatically) to think about everyday wear. I might change the watch every day, forget it to the safe for a year or fall in love again with a watch and wear it for a month in a row.
What comes into the "collection", I have Pateks in all metals (steel, YG, WG, Pt. and RG) and watches belonging to all other "families" than Grand Complications (Calatrava, Golden Ellipse, Nautilus, Aquanaut, Gondolo, Complicated Watches). Any of the three alternatives would fit nicely to my idea of the future Patek collection of mine.

Actually, I like all three references you mentioned. 5040 is a very classic and thin watch while 5059 is significantly thicker. Both wear very differently on the wrist. I slightly prefer 5040 since 5059 is a little bit too thick for its size. But I trust ...

Imho, don't hesitate : 5100 R with its ruthenium dial... If I had the choice, I would say that I have a little preference for the 5100 R but I had the opportunity to put a R at my wrist, and it is gorgeous too. Anyway, I'm in love for this specific watch ...

5100 G, once again, would be my first choice.
And my only one, since you got this very nice PC from G.O... But if you want " à tout prix " a QP friom PP, then the 5140 in platinum, with its blue dial, would be my favourite. ... If you really feel the need for another QP.... Best, Nicolas

You don't have any kind of idea how often I have examined this watch. I love it! But the dial is a bit messy and I need time to decide if I am getting bored with the dial or not. However, I am prepared to own one day 3940(X) and 5140P. What comes to 5100G...
So forget the 3940, it is, IMO, less legible than the 5140.

I agree that 5140 is more legible than 3940. However, the dial is too full and messy while 3940 is very elegant in my opinion. Yes, let's both get our 5100G and then we can arrange a photo session in Paris, Estonia or Lapland. Best, Kari
