Patek Philippe

All great watches...

Actually, I like all three references you mentioned. 5040 is a very classic and thin watch while 5059 is significantly thicker.  Both wear very differently on the wrist. I slightly prefer 5040 since 5059 is a little bit too thick for its size. But I trust that different people have really different tastes. As far as design is concerned, I much prefer 5050 or 5125 (even it's "only" an annual calendar) to 5059/5040 when it comes to a calendar watch.

5100, compared to above two grand complications, is a rather "simple" watch. It only have one more barrelhouse, a power reserve hand, and nothing more. But it has its own magic: the very beautiful and equally nicely constructed movement, the highly balanced dial layout and very elegant and complicated case design. These all elements make 5100 a very special watch and a watch that can fit into any Patek collection.

Attached is a picture from recent Antiquorum auction catalogue. So far it's one of the best pictures that accurately captured the color and style of the watch.
