Thanks for sharing with us yet another rare and charming Patek! A reference that's (relatively) less sought after within the Nautilus line, mostly because of its smaller size, but that is nonetheless attracting lots of interest from collectors!
And among the several 3800 iterations, this is definitely one of the most eye-catching and unusual dial choices!

Even for non noobs I'd guess most never heard of this dial
That's why I hesitate to answer those is it fake threads. There are so many random variants especially AP that i've never heard of.

Yep, there have been several dials associated with Reference 3800, and this one is definitely among the more rare....But (at least when it comes to the SS version) it was neither unique nor officially "limited."

why it is used: “because the white Arabic numerals on the slate-gray flat surface are reminiscent of a rotary dial used on old telephones” (according to Sotheby’s on the auction of such a piece). Thanks for the post !
