Thank you Roger!

It is my favourite ever perpetual calendar. I know many purists like the classic shape of the 3940 and the 2499 prior to that but for me, the 5940 with its raised Breguet numerals, silver dial and cushion shaped case is perfect!

All so different with three things in common: 1. They are all Pateks 2. The are terribly elegant 3. They are all mine!!! Well, the last point is not quite true, not yet anyway. Here I am in the UK on a very short trip primarily to collect the discontinued...

Indeed the holy trinity

1) Your secret stash is in the UK. 2) You're an international travelling playboy. 3) You still love your limbs...... ๐Ÿ˜† Congratulations MTF P.S. I'm still trying to make it to KL at end September.....

Fancy contributing to my imaginary secret stash

and buying my London flat from me at a ridiculously cheap price??!! Think of it this way - you will be helping the watch industry!!! I would even buy a Chopard to show my gratitude!!!

I'm trying to sell off my spare watches and now you are offering a London flat?

 By: MTF : July 29th, 2018-04:15
sham1, Since returning to the UK from glamorous Singapore, most of our watches are unused. No more red carpets and brand events to attend in North Wales, where sheep outnumber humans ๐Ÿ˜• Many of the watches fail the 'worn once-a-year rule' and must be elimi...

My dear MTF

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-07:24
just for you, you may have my flat in Canary Wharf for half that price!! And Canary Wharf can remind you of glamorous Singapore. Personally, I seem much happier in a place where sheep outnumber humans - I can think of only Wales and New Zealand where this...

happy for you Sham [nt]

I am happy for me too!!

That 5940 has been captivating me

 By: Poky : July 29th, 2018-03:18
There is a pre-owned from 2017 with considerable discount. I am so tempted by it but I just don't know if I can put my faith in the seller. They look great.

You would not regret buying it!

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-03:22
I love the dial, I love the raised Breguet numerals and the case shape. I am not too keen on the black dial version though. I think 'used' they are excellent value for money - find a reputable dealer and buy it with peace of mind. Yes you may pay a bit mo...

Thanks Nico!

I tried on all three watches yesterday and must confess that I am most comfortable with the 1530A, not because it is of the lowest value (and therefore less risky but the way it fits the wrist is perfect for me. It also seems to attract a lot more attenti...

Gorgeous trio my friend .

Thanks my friend!

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-07:15
I realise skeleton watches attract a niche market but the handiwork on the Patek is quite something. Hope to show it to you one day!!

I know a skeleton watch isnt for everybody . But i do like them a lot ๐Ÿ˜˜.

 By: Watchonthewrists : July 29th, 2018-08:39
Looking forward to see you and your new watch again in the near future ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿค—

 By: GLau : July 29th, 2018-06:41
wrist shot soon ! Hold on, wrist shots may not be possible because you might have lost both arms ! LOL !

Very funny Gordon!!! :-)

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-07:17
I have kept my left wrist for obvious purposes and also my right wrist just in case. Besides, the going rate for a wrist is pretty low apparently!!!

Thank you! :-)

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-07:18
I am actually quite astonished that in such rarefied company that the 1530A can still stand out!!

I always tend to associate Patek

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-07:53
with elegant dress watches but perhaps that is because I am partial to such watches. The 5940G is without doubt the most complicated watch I own and will probably ever own as I tend to like more simple watches. But yes, you are correct that some of their ...

Splendid trio my friend really

 By: Mike H : July 29th, 2018-07:26
I am not surprised the 1530 gets your vote as a daily wearer it is superb elegant and less risky but on the other hand, do not hesitate to wear often the 5940 it is fantastic and also very easy to wear. Congrats again for this superb trio my friend. Btw w...

Thank you Mike!!

I think you may have the misfortune of having to meet me in November as I am tempted to collect my Tank Cintree in person rather than risk it being couriered to Malaysia. Besides, I like the sales assistant at Cartier very much!!

Oh yes you are damn right, don't take any risk with such a beauty...

 By: Mike H : July 29th, 2018-08:52
...I am talking about the watch my friend, not the salesgirml at Cartier hein ! so I'll be glad to see you then (give me the dates asap, I am travelling a lot these days and need a long noticeโ€ฆ) ...

I shall Mike!

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-09:01
The Tank Cintree is expected to be ready for delivery in November so on the safe side I am looking at the end of November which will also allow me to drop by at Salon QP in London.

Thanks Richard!

I get back on 1 August which is why our GTG is on the next day! I wish I could have brought back the skeleton too but you will have to settle for a perpetual calendar!!

Beautifully elegant trio!

 By: patrick_y : July 29th, 2018-10:15
Congrats Sham1!

Thanks Patrick!

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-10:36
Together with the Patek 7200R London Edition and my incoming platinum Tank Cintree, they are probably the most elegant watches I own, in fact practically my entire collection!!

Hey, thanks for saying so!

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-11:56
I am just nuts about Patek dress watches

Many thanks MoonWatchMan!

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2018-15:40
Finally I have a watch with a moonphase on it!!!

I like your style, Sham!

 By: BMR : July 30th, 2018-08:31
Beautiful trio here! Congratulations on this collection.

Thank you for the compliment!

 By: sham1 : July 30th, 2018-11:20
My 'style' is actually quite predictable and I hope to be able to add this to my collection soon (in keeping with the style of course! ) ...

Very cool, indeed!

 By: BMR : July 30th, 2018-11:32
I love those lugs!

I agree!

 By: sham1 : July 30th, 2018-12:02
And the dial is not bad either especially the raised numerals in yellow gold.

Awesome!

By: Costa (aka Connie) : August 1st, 2018-18:25
I love the watch on the top.

Finally!

 By: sham1 : August 2nd, 2018-02:19
Someone who appreciates the fine detail of the skeleton. Thank you for your acknowledgement! I love that watch and look forward to take delivery of it one day.

It is such a unique Patek.

By: Costa (aka Connie) : August 8th, 2018-08:19
I could stare at the skeleton all day. I hope you achieve this piece one day soon. CB

I feel the same way!!

 By: sham1 : August 8th, 2018-09:37
it is fortunately reserved for me so it is a case of my selling more body parts to acquire it

That 5940..

 By: Wristenthusiast : August 1st, 2018-20:33
All are beautiful, but that 5940 is amazing. The proportions on that watch look great.

Thank you Roger!

I am nuts about your 1530a how cool is that. And the 5940 is such a charmer. The sceleton very esoteric and exciting piece. Do you have close up pictures of it? I know patek do them very well.

Here you go Christian!

 By: sham1 : August 2nd, 2018-02:22
The attention to detail is amazing and the side of the case if also hand engraved! ...

Amazing

 By: ChristianDK : August 2nd, 2018-11:27
I love this kind of esoteric horology. The watch Transforms to sculpture with such finesse and the extreme expression of craft. Clearly not for everyone - but who cares. Bravo!

Thanks Christian!

I have this habit of liking watches that many may not!
