Gentlemen, being a topic starter may i have the right to stop this discussion?
To avoid any further misunderstanding just want to add some thoughts.
I like Patek' art of watch making and appreciate the sustainable quality control as well as innovations they did and still doing. Patek is the best watch money can buy, IMHO. I like the Rolex though as the real tool watch.
I have nothing against the price policy and if there is a price tag at 100k usd then i am blindly accepting this price apriori assuming that this watch worth the price. Currently i own 5130 in rose gold and 5205 in white gold ( there is a thread dedicated to my last happy purchase). Its not a collection - just few bricks of the future Patek wall i am going to build.
To be honest, i was quite surprised that my initial post got certain type of reaction - i do believe that as the client i DO HAVE rights to discuss the customer service of the firm i am paying money.
My favorite briefcase is Sac a Depeche from Hermes. i like it a lot and the next oe will be again Sac a Depeche. But, i think that Hermes customer service too far from ideal and i am sure that they could do better than now. Is it bad habit from my side? No, wherever i correctly and gently state my thoughts about customer service its normal. Feedback from the clients is the key to the customer service management.
5131 is the fantastic piece of art and i have not seen anything comparable from other names across the market. I do not want to reiterate again the story about Russian AD and their message about zero possibility to get this piece. It is what it is.
Finally, as i sad before its not my problem or AD problem - its PP shareholder' problem. Do they need to fix it? Sure. Are they trying to fix it and stop selling watches to the speculators? i hope they are.
I still hope that i get this watch some day from Geneva store, but not from some Maiami based speculator
all the best to all of you my dear brothers on arms,
kind regards,
ed
