Lemania doesn't compare...
May 17, 2012,10:46 AM
Hahahah!!!
I love reading the responses of supposedly "objective" and "unbiased" owners. They're always the same. In fact, there is no question that people opinions are being dictated by their own ownership.
The factual reality is that Lemanias are completely trounced and defeated by in-house Patek. Cold analysis of the quality, finish and functions will tell you that.
The new Patek movements simply don't compare to the Lemania - they're on another planet...... from silicon components for outstanding durability, overall greater rate accuracy, and far superior user functionality which range from hacking seconds, instantaneous jumping registers on chronos etc, through to dynamometric crowns which can never overwind the watch.... and so much more... Add this to the fact that they are finished to *at least* as high a standard AND will not be found in anything other than a Patek Philippe and winner is obvious.
Facts are facts gentlemen.
But of course, if some of you still insist on thinking that the base calibre shared between a 5070 and an Omega Speedmaster (!) is superior to the Patek-only calibre in the 5170, I would urge you to remove the rose-tinted spectacles....
Unless of course you're talking about rarity, exclusivity and value. In which case, we'd be better off discussing accounting, market trends, speculating for profit and value retention.......which isn't the same as discussing the merits of the worlds finest watches.
