Intriguing piece
Have to admit I have not really paid this one much attention but it certainly is quite appealing. The oversized dimensions make it stand out quite a bit, somehow in the way that the 5070 does in my mind. The dial of the 5135P is quite attractive I think.
The problem with it I suspect is that in the world of Patek there are so many appealing references and most do not have there luxury of owning more than one or very few. I certainly would easily see myself owning more if it was possible but that would also make it less exciting I assume.
I do however think that a lot if pieces that were under appreciated and produced pre 2010 will not decrease in demand. Production numbers were lower back then and tastes often evolve in a strange chronological fashion. I wish there were more dial variations however as the offerings outside the slate is a touch conservative to me. I recall seeing a limited black dial here in the forum some time ago which I found extraordinary....

not often am I completely wrong but in this case I guess I did not understand the market. I believe the 5135 is Patek's best annual calendar ever made. others like the 5146, 5205, 5396 are nice pieces for sure but not one has imo the strong character like...

I understand this is not everybody's cup of tea but I have recently acquired certain "allergy" issues that have made me change my strap habits slightly.

The 5135R had a beautiful black dial edition.
It was a special edition for Russia and quite nice too.

These are major bargains now and for those who desire a larger looking PP, this is the one to get. That coupled with such a nice complication for such a nice discount is sure shot winner. It will, for sure, be very desirable for the patient collector.
