Imho ref 5050 is really underrated for unknown reasons
Not only it is a beautiful vintage PP perpetual calendar but also this retrograde date is a small detail that adds a lot I think.
There are actually 2 versions of 5050 one with Roman numerals (the version that you are presenting here above) and another dial version with baton markers that I personally prefer (even if the Roman numerals versions would be rarer from what I understand...
In any case (pun intended) and in any dial also I love this reference and I believe it is a sleeping beauty (like the 3940 was many years before its glory again since few years now), ref 5050 will surely be recognized one of these days as a gorgeous pc as well...

I’m guessing this is the precursor to the 5059p and maybe 5496p, although this one has more of a simpler elegance.
I did try on the 5496p in the past and liked it very much on the wrist.
Because 5059P has an officer case,
I think it is rather a precursor to the 5496P. 36 mm instead of 39.5 mm. Best, Emmanuel

pass for me. I find the Roman numerals along with dates numbers too busy on the dial, same as the regular 6000. Different strokes for different folks 😃

I didn’t pay attention to this particular version until I saw these photos. But, as you say, the way we react to each timepiece is very personal.
