I was talking to Pete about a blue enamel dial on 5370P and it was he who told me blue enamel was difficult to make than black enamel which is also extremely difficult to make.

He also mentioned white was easier than black.

There may be more than one in that little GTG with a 5370, unless we're both thinking of the same individual.
Sure. 👍

Not sure, white is certainly easier than black.
By: russell996 : July 14th, 2020-02:25
With regards to paint and ultra high finish cars then black is the most difficult colour to do due to it's lack of forgiveness for blemishes. I assume enamel is the same?

I think R was the shortest run...but they do overlap 5231J and G 5131R and P, 5531P and 5231J....and we see a lot of 5231J
8 year wait?
By: DOCSF : July 15th, 2020-07:56
I guess initially he must have applied for J or G because R was produced only for 4 years. He definitely deserves it if it was a 8 year wait.
Applied for a G 😲

R was in production for only 3 years and with a different city ring each year. 001, 010 and 011.
Is it not 4 years?

Introduced in 2014 and discontinued in 2018?
City Rings
By: russell996 : July 15th, 2020-08:27
001 has London on outer Ring and is spaced using a larger circumference of text (amongst other things) 010 has London on inner Ring, is spaced using a smaller outer circumference of text based on newly introduced 5230, Sydney and Brisbane both on the dial...
Blue for me

It will catch the light better and provide different colour variations of the dial.
Fair comment!

I am just a regular member of the crowd!
You can't go wrong with either!

I tried the back in January and apart from the size being a bit too large for my dainty wrist, the watch was near perfect!
So sorry
By: sham1 : July 17th, 2020-06:46
No wrist shot as the watch was too large for my wrist and looked awkward: even the sales person at the Salon concurred.
Prefer my black one

For me the attractive part of the bk enamel is the light absorbing endless deep feeling. I believe black one give me more of it
