I think the 5712 should suffice ...
The complication is the same on the two models and the dial layout is almost similar, saved for a few details that are obvious only to WIS 
With the 5712 you get the bonus of the exhibition case back which allows you to marvel on the inside movement.
On another note, I would however put my bet on the 3700, the original Nautilus that started it all. And that should complement well with the 5712 - with a different stroke.

3712 is equipped with exhibition case back. However, this watch is opened from the shoulders like the original 3700. Best, Kari

I would look for something different
I own a 3712, wich I like a lot. It is different in many details and it is the "old" nautilus style. I remember that I paid the same amount then, like you have to pay for a 5711 today! I would go for another style or movement, if I already would call a 57...
