Honestly, I have never encountered anybody saying: " Booaah, what a hideous watch! "
All of them are simply stunned by such a simple, bold beauty.
It is not a Calatrava, but a simple watch from the early seventies.
And as it very much looks like, the 70ies are and will always be seen as a young, weird and cool era.
I really do believe that the Ellipse is, also, the young mans best choice.
Many times I want the 5119, the 5960, the 5146, the 5140 also, but when I have my Ellipse on I do not see ANY reason for another PP.
If Patek would not have it in theire range already, they would have to invent it still ... simply devine !

my personal oservation and belief about age is: we all do not grow older than mid twenty

PP is targeting the market of well-off people with high disposable income. Most of the people meeting this criteria are above 40 of age. No doubt that there are more filthy rich young men now, thank you to internet. However, the market is still too small....
My advice is to start with a 240 caliber.
A micro-rotor caliber is always special and when it is reliable and beautiful like the 240, I think it is the best way to enter Patek's world. Fr.Xavier

but it has been discontinued. It was a 5085. It was very casual, complicated and for most of its life it was less than 20k. Its a steel in the secondary market in my opinion. I was dumb enough to sell mine for less than 12k
