Patek Philippe

Larger Calatrava?

First - thank you Dje for the post - it at least call on us to put some thought into the question.

As what I would presume as a younger member of this forum at 36 years young - I have often though about the subject you bring up.

I am an avid collector and from the day I purchased my first watch I have wanted a Patek - after 7 years of collecting - I decided to sell the better watches of my collection and consolidate to purchase a Patek 5055g - which I still own.

I chose this model because it was an entry level complication or "petite" complication which I believe had more style than just a Calatrava - a good middle ground watch in my opinion - although the size of the watch is to small for me.

In hindsight - I wish I would have held out for a 5035g or 5146g which is really what I would like - and relatively speaking in the same price point.

So yes I agree - and wish that there was a more options for a younger collector especially larger models- but also understand some other's points that a discerning collector has less to do with age and more to do with taste - but budget is obviously a factor.

To conclude I firmly believe that Patek makes the finest watches in the world and feel privileged to own one.
