Patek Philippe

I love the 5270R

and for a long time it was my ultimate watch. Finally my AD told me honestly that she felt it was too large for me. I shall be forever indebted to her for this unusual gesture. And Thomas, you complying to Sham's 'law' is most flattering but it really depends on your wrist size and the curvature of the lugs. Patek's lugs do not curve sufficiently in my opinion as compared to some other brands like the MB&F Legacy Machine series and Moritz Grossmann. Perhaps by not having lugs that curve too much, Patek is making the watch more accessible to more people which is not a bad idea because I am in a tiny minority who seeks perfection is wearability smile
The 3970 fits my wrist perfectly but it is quite a thick watch and some may argue that its proportions are therefore not balanced. Then again, I like the fact that the Lemania based movement fills up the 36mm case much better than it does on the 40mm case of the 5970. Anyway, all this is immaterial, go buy the 5170P - one of the rare chronographs where the mesmerising dial is as lovely to look at as the movement! Wear in good health my fellow disciple! smile
