I am the OP and thanks for the feedback
As this is my first foray into an older Patek, all of your feedback gives me more direction on how to approach Option 1 and Option 2.
So far I have only seen the watch online. It looks beautiful in pics, but could be disappointing when on the wrist.
I never buy without box and papers, and I know the Certificate of Origin is the better paper. The Archives I thought would add some benefit in lieu of the Origin.
But several of you feel it's not much of a benefit, so hence the cheaper price of Option 2.
I was of the opinion that PP overhaul papers also would add value, since PP would not touch the watch if there were any issues as to its authenticity.
Maybe I am mistaken.
I am friendly with some watch dealers in town and will go talk with them about their opinion too on Origin vs. Archives.
Option 1 is in my city and I am planning to see it in person this week and find out more about the watch if possible.
Option 2 is quite a distance away, but a reputable watch dealer in business for more years than the age of watch.
I will have the dealer send clearer pics of the overhaul papers and look at the details.
Half the fun of watch collecting is the search and finding the right one, and the other half is wearing it.
Thanks again. I appreciate your thoughts.
