How I understand you Anatol
I have a 5712/1A and, after more than 3 years, It is by far the watch I wear the most.
I think that with some people (like me) tastes do evolve and I'm the kind of owner who wants to wear often his watches.
Thus, with time, some remain longer and longer in the safe and this is then the signal I should get rid of them. Otherwise I feel it is a waste.
The 5712 has naturally gained the first place in my home.
The 3940 is also a fantastic reference that I could see in Pt not so long ago. It is so refined, especially considering it is a complicated piece (usually thicker).
Congratulations Anatol, I think these are excellent choices and, please, feel free to share again from time to time!

My 3940 dates from 2007 and is the only I have seen with the dark shading around the 24h-scale. Was this a feature of very late 3940?

Just curios. Any reason why you changed out the folding buckle for a tang buckle?
Because it allows me to better look at the beauty of my 3940!
I like to spread my 3940 on the table while working, so that I can look at it in all its beauty. With a folding buckle, you never can spread it as perfectly as with the tang buckle.

The cal 240 movement very reliable and elegant.
