Hi all, I am planning to buy a PP 5140 or 3940 in coming months. From the previous thread, I understand that the 2 watches are basically the same except 5140 has a bigger case. However, the last post about the 5140 was about 2 months back. I was wondering... 

you are right, the movement in both 5140 and 3940 is indeed the same, only the 5140 has the slightly bigger diameter and currently only available in WG. How active of the specific model been dicussed in forum does not represent the popularity of that watc... 

I sold off my 5038 (same as 3940 but limited) as I thought it was too small so will be contemplating about acquiring one 5140 when it's offered in platinum.

I have enjoyed my 3940R for a few years and would not wish it in a larger case. To me, and YMMV, the small, thin, elegant 240Q belongs in a similar case. Perhaps it is not the fashion trend at the moment but the 3940 is a true classic. There is nothing wr... 

The 5140 dial IS DIFFERENT. The date track has numerals that are squeeezed smaller in two places, I believe the 5 and 27, iirc? they are almost mashing up against the subdials at 9 and 3. Also, the day and month fonts are larger than 3940, so are inner-nu... 

more people needing reading glasses, the 5140 is an improvement over the 3940. It may be more "cramped", but overall it's easier to actually read the dial.
