Does anyone else feel that the new ref. 5123R's caseback is just...
butt ugly? I really want to like it, as it pretty much the only new model that I can come close to affording. But the back side is such a turn-off. First of all, the idea that they would put the same movement for a ladies 31mm ref. 7119 in a 38mm case seems cost-saving to the maximum extreme. I mean, for 24 grand they can't come up with a more fitting movement? And, because of such a small movement, they had to do something with all the extra space, so they created this freakish-looking curvature that confuses the eye into thinking, at first glance, that it is a movement for a rectangular Gondolo on the other side.
Not complaining for the sake of complaining. Really do like the front... just dissapointed that the caseback lightly tips the balance in favor of non-purchase. I've noticed that on PP's website you can't even click to see the back side. Perhaps even PP is trying to limit the turn-off for potential buyers?

Hi, First of all I can say I really liked the 5123R! I like the narrower strap and the different style that it gives to the watch (ref 3939 had a narrow strap too). Then I've already said that I'd like to see someday a larger simple manual wind calibre fr...

I went to the Baselworld exhibition few days ago. When looking at the new 5123R I exactly felt the same as you have described. I was very disappointed to see that they are using the same tiny movement. For me a clear no go for such a high priced watch. So...
