Baselworld - first impressions
Today we made the first fast visit to Basel. First of all, the Patek collection looks much better in real than in photos. The World Time Chronograph 5930G is not that bright and the dial has a bit grey in the blue. Actually it is quite nice. Both perpetual calendars, the grey 5140P and 5496P, look stunning. It might be that 5496P will pair in the future my 5550P.
But all depends on the new 5374P. That watch is pretty perfect. If the price will be where I dream it to be, I might go for that as a two-years-project. But first I need to get 5370P which would make a great pair with 5374P.
All in all, the new collection seems to be very much Patek. On Tuesday I have a private presentation and I will try all the new watches and my wife will try the ladies' watches. I will take a lot of pictures then and post my final impressions towards the end of the week.
My very first impression based on the press photos were slightly negative, now slightly positive. Let's see how I'll feel on Tuesday evening. Naturally, I would have liked to see more steel and platinum and we are still waiting for the new Nautilus models.

but I heard today that 5496P is one of the four watches ordered for me (naturally I take what I want). Let's see what are the three other watches. From the new collection I will not buy any of the World Times just because I'm sure that a platinum version ...
