Any difference between a 5712 and a 5054
Hi, I always wonder why the 5712 appears to be a highly desired and coveted Nautilus model. Looking at the dial, it appears to resemble a 5054 except for the case which is in an Officer Calatrava. Being new to Patek having acquiring a Nauiti and a Calatrava models recently, I also wonder if the 5054 was a previously highly desirable piece due to the dial design. Appreciate any inputs that may be shared. Thank you.

5054 was previously highly desirable. I think that this model is still very desirable and I have been looking for years to find a perfect specimen. I finally found one and next Wednesday I'll get a very nice 5054P. It will make a nice pair with my 3712. B...

They are 2 watches for two different kind of usage, more casual and sporty the 5712, more elegant and formal the 5054. And that's imho the reason why the 5712 is more requested, because It's a pretty more versatile watch usable with casual Clothing in the...
5054 because of its size 35/36mm
is losing its charm in the modern day standard. Nowadays, anything smaller than 37mm (dress watch) is considered small. Whereas 5712 is a good size sport watch. which can also be dressed up in a suit if needed.
