About quartz

I hope that this post is constructive enough and does not violate and written or unwritten forum rules.
I think that quartz watches do have a big historical significance, given how they have disrupted the watch industry. In the past days, I have done a lot of reading about the Btea21 movement and the Centre Electronique Horloger in Neuchatel. The advent of the quartz watch has had an impact on the industry in so many ways.
Patek was one of the companies who used the Beta 21 movement, which wasnt exactly a "cheap" or "primitive" movement. Its accuracy was world class. The funky 3587 ref. is a very nice example of that period's Zeitgeist. PP continued to build quartz watches throughout the years, including Ellipse, Calatrava and Aquanaut models.
And even today, Patek makes quartz watches. My wife has one, for example. And the 4700 ladies Nautlius has a quartz movement as well.
