100% agree. Nothing against Rolex, AP, VC, Cartier, Omega, etc, and very much appreciate their contribution in horology, yet true small production independent watchmakers (and Simon Brette, etc) are creating some fantastic timepieces imho.
Imho there are far more choices today than was available back in the 1960s... or 2000s as best i can recall. Seems to me the today's hard-core enthusiasts have an abundance of choices (dependent on your patience). Torsti Laine offers many customization choices, sane pricing, and reasonable wait. Of course we also have an immense amount of choices in the style YOU prefer, could be Armin Strom, or Ferrier, Czapek, Speake Marin, RR, etc as each brand's design 'language' speaks to its' fans.
(Said like an old Western 'merican) It's 2024 partner, gonna take more than just a purity face to get my attention.
