Patek Philippe Baselworld 2019: the wristshots
By: foversta : March 20th, 2019-15:03
dear all, please find below the wristshots I took during the press conference today. I think that Patek did a great job this year. An interesting complicated Calatrava in steel, a very unusual complicated watch, some nice variations, an improved basic cal...
The more I see this

The more I like it... it was good at first sight but seeing some videos makes it even better.... hope to handle one soon!
My first impressions

5905R, 5726/1A and 5235R look really great! Looking at the 5212A I don’t like the contrast between the colour of the dial and the brilliant white of the date window. Why it is so difficult to make both fitting together harmoniously? Not sure about the 4 p...
Thanks those are fantastic photos

1. The 5212a looks more appealing in your photos than the overly processed official photos! 2. I'm not sold on the monoblock art deco case direction, it seems incongruent with the otherwise beautiful laid back nature of the 5172g in particular 3. Nautilus...
5212A

Just sent a text to my AD to please order one for me...
Can't PP figure out how...

...to make sub-dials that don't overlap with the center of the dial so the hands don't overlap information? It is very annoying and so simple to fix (hint: make the sub-dials smaller).

I wish it had a white ring around the moon phase, like the grey version. The contrast would look good.
Fantastic post. Thank you for sharing.

I’m smitten with the 5212A. Interesting piece in steel. Would love to get some wrist time with the 5520P. At 42+pushers I’m quite nervous how this will wear on small wrists. How does it feel? Mind sharing your wrist circumference? Cheers
Thank you for the shots: that 5235 is devine

Nearly an occult aura is coming from that piece. Best: you can hardly read Patek on the dial, which is very discreet. The steel Calatrava is nothing for me: overloaded with data and more a ladies watch in g. Maybe in coloured metal it will look better.
Thanks the 5520 is funny

in the old days ppl consider quartz lcd watches with more pushers are better than the others with less ,in mechanicals PP won that contest 👍🏻 I think a very nice new collection they released this year!
Great Lineup

From these wristshots, all new references look impressive. Nothing ground breaking, but something from everyone. PP chooses yet again to evolve elegantly and subtly, firmly standing on the decades gone by. This is something exceptionally depicted here wit...
I will be pilloried for this.
By: Horo_Traveler : April 6th, 2019-21:13
But sorry PP, you’ve lost the plot. The 5212 seriously? If you’re the beacon of hope for the anachronistic and poorly marketed Swiss watch industry, I shudder to imagine the fate for the rest. And this is from a once lover of high horology.
