Poky and Other Interested Parties:
I trust that this response isn't too late to help, but I can provide objective answers to your winding question.
I was generously given Patek Philippe's own 'Self-Winding Cylinder' Portable Leather Bluetooth Rotary Mechanical Watch Winder as a gift directly from Patek as I believe to be the only means of acquiring one. This winder automatically recognizes contemporary Patek watches and configures the winding parameter specifications accordingly. There is even a matching iPhone/Android app called "PP Cylinder"
According to the accompanying user instruction manual guide, for 324 calibre movements, the *only* appropriate winding settings are as follows: one (1) turn each clockwise and counter-clockwise every three (3) minutes for a combined total of 960 turns per a twenty-four-hour day [2 turns (one clockwise and one counter-clockwise per three minutes) × (60 minutes per hour ÷ 3 minute intervals × 24 hours per day)].
Clearly, the information you received would suggest over-winding, to make the obvious understatement.
See attached images of the cover of the aforementioned booklet, along with page 13, which breaks down the winding settings.
Feel free to email me at [Email address suppressed for privacy] for any further details or additional inquiries.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps!
Best,
Chad
