New 2020 Resonance
I don't usually post, but I've always enjoyed the photos and insights of everyone in this forum and had to share a couple pictures of the new Resonance -- it's absolutely stunning, and the new 42mm size is really perfect.

I have a number other Journe's -- including the 40mm 2019 Resonance.
Overall, the new 2020 model wears different from the older Resonances. The dial is a little larger (seems to fill the space more), it's easier to read at a glance, the case is a little thicker, and the movement of the winding crown to 2 o'clock makes it so much easier to wear daily. It also has a lovely ticking sound, like the Opimum; and the dual rementoirs add significantly to an already beautiful movement.
It's probably my favorite Journe so far!

I am so in love with the RQ. I think it is an amazing evolution. It looks great in 42 mm. Mr Journe has said that he designed it for the 42 mm case But also offers it in 40 mm. I would love to hear your thoughts and impressions about the piece as an owner so far, as you are our first owner.

I can read the new 42 at a glance.. whereas I always need to look a little closer at the 40. It’s minor side by side, but pretty obvious to me on the wrist

...most people can't pull it off so well (longing for the return of 38mm)...
My wrist is about 7.25”.. And I’ve found after a few days the new 42mm size seems very natural. I’ll get a few side by side photos of the 40/42 case size in the next couple days for comparison. [nt]

Can you confirm these?
1) The crown looks bigger, like the one on an Optimum. The one on the Optimum is rounder and less sharp compared to the one on a 38mm Resonance. So it translates to better comfort in terms of sharp edges and torque application on the crown.
2) It should require less force to wind, since it has one mainspring. But I don't know the specs of the new mainspring vs the previous one with two mainsprings. Do you find it requires less force?

The crown is thinner/shallower than the optimum (which is super easy to wind), but a fair bit simpler to wind than the prior resonances. In prior resonances I always took the strap off to wind and my fingers were always a little sore :) [nt]

Congrats on the new RQ
I’ve tried both the 40 and 42 RQ and love both. It’s such a great watch. The remontoir(s) aren’t as loud as the Optimum which was a pleasant surprise. The 40 wears like a 38 on my wrist with the thinner bezel, but as Christian mentioned FP designed the watch as a 42. The side profile of the 40 is more “square” compared to the 42 with the thinner bezel. I would seriously consider the 42 in this case because it was designed for it. I know someone who has smaller wrists who ended up with a 42 and love it.
