The Resonance is perfect with so many outfits.
I love EG and have two pairs as well but their lasts doesn’t seem to fit my foot so well. I prefer shoes from John Lobb (Paris)that are somewhat similar in style as EG. Their last are an almost perfect fit. Better than a pair of bespoke I had done.

Indeed we have similar taste i have only 1 EG but quite a few JLs, primarily like their 7000 last is very good fit for me
John Lobb Paris with Hermes leather are so soft
However, I like shoes more that are sturdy in construction , with double leather soles.
John Lobbs shoes are more "indoor shoes", office shoes.

Those are shoes for a lifetime if well cared for. I have lots of brogues but have come to the conclusion that a simple cap toe is my favorite.
