Overview of the Rolex Cellini Prince
The Rolex Cellini Prince was introduced in 2005 and discontinued ten years later in 2015.
During this period, five different models were made.
Rectangular case, art deco design, shaped manual-winding movement decorated to match each case and dial: what a fantastic job!
The first two models are my favorite by far: yellow gold 5440 and white gold 5441.

An un-Rolex Rolex and I believe the first one with a display case back? Definitely appreciate the idea of matching the movement finishing to the dial, too. Possibly a bit too bold for my shy self but I feel it’s great these were made 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I took a watchmaking class in Denver a number of years ago...
...sponsored by the New York Horological Society. The presenter was a Rolex watchmaker and was wearing one of these...
I interpret this as a tribute to these
watches and the esteem they inspire to watchmakers.
The WG Rayon flammé is my favorite, at the point I considered getting it. The movement is quite eye catching, for a Rolex.
I see why you like this one.
The red accents give it a sporty look (and no Roman numerals).

Indeed, mon ami. It makes me forget how thick this watch is, which is its main issue.
I must say that it's my personal favorite too.

I find these attractive and appreciate the shaped movement.
They are a nice break from the ubiquitous sport watches we are used to. Another side of Rolex.
Definitely another side of this brand.

I really like some of these non Rolex Rolex watches.
But even before I became obsessed with Ultra Thin watches I thought these were just a little bit too chunky. Having checked with my friend Gemini it confirmed these watches range from 9.3mm to 11.7mm which I think is quite thick for a dress watch. I still quite like them just not enough to actually buy one though.

As I mentioned on multiple occasions before, the Cellini Prince is my favorite Rolex watch ever. The 5442 and 5443 are, easily, my favorites of the collection. I'd happily have either, perhaps just a smidge more preference for the rose gold due to its more classical presentation, befitting of the overall package. I still vividly remember seeing it (5442) for the first time at an AD many, many years ago. I immediately thought - that's the prettiest Rolex I have ever seen, and my mind hasn't changed whatsoever in the meantime . Cheers, Filip

The 5442 offers a perfect mix of traditional and modern aesthetics.
Being shaped and not sporty, these watches are fairly easy to find and not unaffordable.
