New Watch - Rolex 1665 “Great White”
As soon as I saw this particular watch, it was love at first sight. Creamy lume, perfect case, rail dial, etc. I have never considered myself a Sea-Dweller guy - really, I always thought I’d spring for a 1655 instead - but I really find myself head over heels. I’ve shied away from “larger” watches the last few years, and I love the heft and the imposing stance. Such a nice change of pace. Somehow, as time goes on, I seem to be shifting towards vintage Rolex…

As you and others have said it's hard to beat a vintage Rolex and the ones without a cyclops are much nicer IMO. Wear and enjoy it in good health.

My supposed one-and-done vintage Rolex is a 1655. I'm wearing mine right now in fact! But I spend a *disturbing* amount of time looking at 1665s just like yours. That domed crystal really does me in.
Vintage Rolex are very, very easy to love.
I usually prefer a date complication, so I've gravitated towards vintage Sea-Dwellers and GMTs. Your watch is amazing!!
I remember in the early 2000's looking for my first Rolex. The Sub was of course the go-to model -- the one a person "should" buy -- but I found myself drawn much more to the Sea-Dweller (16600 at that time). It was a bit more stealthy and niche. It's a great watch, and only later did I come to appreciate the older models even more.
