About a month ago, I got a call from my pal Marc . . .
. . . who posts here occasionally under the login marcD.
"Guess what, Art?"
"Uh . . . the Dodgers are in first place?" (We're both LA Dodgers fans.)
"No, but almost as good. I was at our firing range in Burbank a little while ago. Guess who I ran into?"
"Clint Eastwood?"
"Don't be ridiculous. Someone you know."
"I give up. Who?"
"When I walked in, the guy next to me looked at my wrist and said, 'Hey, nice watch!' I'm wearing the new Speedy today."
"Well, I told you it would get noticed. What was he wearing?"
"He was wearing the NTTD. Then he asked me where I got it. I told him where, at the authorized dealer in San Gabriel. Then guess what he said?"
"I have no idea, Marc. Tell me."
"He said he was the Omega boutique manager in Beverly Hills. Then I told him we probably knew the same guy - you!"
Moral of the story: be nice to everyone - your friends, your AD, your grocery store bagger. You never know when a stranger is really an acquaintance once removed.

Yes indeed, the 2-3 degrees of separation theory might be true. Wow, you both know Marc, and it was coincidental he met you at the range. Sometimes I think the Superstring theory is true...if you resonate something, it tugs on a similar resonance a million miles away, and both may meet.

Yes indeed. U should see some of my friends. They did not grow up, reminding me of a man-child. But the up-side is they are always seeing the world in a quizical way.

It's a Cookie Monster WAVE! I always just thought it was a Japanese wave motif. But I just noticed it for the first time today that it's Cookie Monster's eyes! Now... If I were a kid, I would've noticed that detail a long time ago!
