But am considering getting back to Rolex this year - but am thinking about the right starting model? I've dabbled many years with stainless sports models but am considering going full gold or vintage. I'm currently spending a lot of time with AP and Patek but there's something about Rolex that takes me back...

With a Budget around 30k - would love any recommendations! I am considering a Root Beer GMT in full RG but don't know if I can pull it off!

You should be able to find a vintage gmt on a Jubilee in your range. 

Am looking at the modern root beer simply because I don't think I can pull off jubilee - but will be looking around. If you have any vintage dealer recommendations let me know! Thanks!!!

But I think this is a reference that gets lost in the shuffle and just offering this as a relatively inexpensive winner! It has become my favorite watch, and I have some nice ones.

This one is flying under the radar for no reason at all. It‘s a flawlessly made, unusual sports watch with a huge charm factor. I am tempted since many years, I guess I‘m just waiting for a good opportunity to take the plunge.

I feel a bit guilty here as well spending perhaps my children's future funds but I'm sure they will appreciate it in the future (I hope!) I do like some of the suggestions - the biggest issue is that I tend to like to try one on before buying - and it's nearly impossible so far. I will be in Japan soon and perhaps will be more lucky.

Tried on a platinum dd with a blue dial but just felt it was too much watch for me! Will keep the green dials in mind.
