I only have 8 crown watches here in Spain (together with my wifes Rolex). The big rest is in CH, this is safer!

After the last burglary, where i lost all my vintage watches, pocket and wrist, family watches I changed my manners.

Wonderfull patina. The brown 1680 red is a killer! The other one is a 16800 till 1983 without "biccherinis". I hope i am right. Congratulations! [nt]

As per data and findings this is a transitional series and was only produced for 9 months hence limited pieces were produced
By: Horology75 : September 10th, 2018-22:44
The steel grade was also upgraded to 304L and the dial is shiny gloss dial and the case still had holes .

My sub is. 1983 16800...
By: mdg : September 12th, 2018-12:50
...I know it is ‘transitional,’ although I bought it new.
Mine does not have the metal surrounding the hour markers. The dial is matte. Sapphire crystal, 1,000 feet WR.
I had always read that ‘transitional’ referred only to subs with the matte dial and no surrounds.

Try to enjoy the watch a lot .
By: Watchonthewrist : September 11th, 2018-12:47
Dont see it as a investment , it will spoil the fun of a nice watch . If its worth more after a while its a bonus , if not then at least you enjoyed it imho
