wearing this for a couple of days, my friend is wering my 292J and I have his 339 for some time

 

a very nice watch on a sunny day
The brown composite looks superb with enough sunlight

now, the caseback ....................
I won't say this is a big problem but I can tell you it has NOT the same color (anymore) as the case.  Maybe harde to see in pics but it looks different

is that due to constant contact with sweat? How long have you wear to have this discoloration? For me it is unacceptable, i have one myself and has yet to wear it. The discoloration problem makes me think twice to wear it.

May I know for how long has your friend had this watch?   And how often does he/she wear it?

I noticed this as well and was hoping it was just some lighting anomaly in the photograph.  Would be a bit worried if this happened constantly on all 339s.  

He has it 3 months and wore it 3 or 4 weeks

AND  I  know another person who has one too .... caseback looks the same .....

 the pics I took .. I could live with it (hoping it does not get worse LOL) .................. But I've seen a much worse example ( not seen irl but copied the pics from paneristi, the thread is also on this site)

Anyway, sooner or later Panerai will take action I guess and tell us what THEY will do. replacing the caseback ?  use another material ? stop using composite ? ....

 

But the 339 must be a pain in their a$$. Right from the beginning they had problems with the words 'Marina Militare' , somehow they were not allowed to use these patented words anymore. There were rumours that the 339 would have only Panerai Radiomir on the dial. And this pic was taken at a Panerai show (I think Nacho M took it)

 

 

Now, they are made with the 'Marina Militare' dial .... but not in Italy (forbidden in that country .... and Italy is the cradle of Panerai)

 

 

Than, take a look at their website .. you'll find evey watch they made since 1997 .... every limited piece can be found, starting with the PAM21

now, try to find the PAM339 ........................... Oops , it isn't on their site ??

 

I think they wished they never made it   LOL

 

 

But hey, it is a hell of a piece and I wouldn't mind having one !!!
