I'm extremely excited to open and moderate the TimeOut forum!  I wanted a place where we can all get to know each other.  We obviously share a passion for watches.  I'm sure that is not the only thing we have in common.

So to start out, I'd like to invite you to introduce yourself to the community and perhaps share a picture of yourself and/or an interest of yours.  Please feel free to share as much or as little as you are comfortable with.  We are obviously sensitive to privacy concerns.

So without further ado, I'm Steve and I'll be your host here.  I live in Beverly Hills with a big dog and am otherwise single.  For those of you who don't know, this is me helping model the Jean Dunand Orbital Tourbillon.

i'm always up for a drink, preferable hard liquor or wine, whenever i have the free time cause it helps ease the stress from my job.  not much of a beer guy since that gives u a gut, but i occasionally drink some Dos Equis or Newcastle.

I think people know me best since I had commissioned the most complicated wrist watch ever built (Guinness book of records 2006, page 134), which based on a movement of Louis Elysee Piguet (end of 19th century) was first encased in a Platinum case by Franck Muller Geneva between 1989 and 1992, adding some complications, and then much much more accomplished by many complications Paul Gerber has created and mounted into the watch between 1992 and 2003.

The photos show Paul and me in my villa in Southern France, where I usually live from May to October every year (the rest of the year I live in Thailand).

. . . log-in because of delusions of grandeur . . . . it's my nickname at work - I'm responsible for cancelling accounts at the company I work for (hint: #39 on the Fortune 500).  My real passion is following the Rolling Stones on tour, with 34 shows under my belt and a few more to come, followed by watches, sports car racing, and ale (note to Anthony: we should put together another local Purists gathering at the Alehouse).  My favorite films are 'Black Narcissus', 'Last Holiday', and 'Tales of Manhattan', and I really feel that the greatest missed opportunity of all time was not getting Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood in the same movie.  You may have seen this picture of me a few months ago with Stephen Urquardt . . . .

i could have bought a couple of torubillions with the money i spent on audio for the past 10 years.......but is a fun hobby and if i enjoy it, then the financial part doesn't matter at all...

ah, and i forgot to tell you that i love cars as well...currently driving a Cayenne (need the SUV for hauling all those speakers and amplifiers) and an SLK55...next year either an AM Vantage or the new R8 from Audi...

I have become a member of the gang a couple of years ago and I've felt at home ever since. ThePuristS attracted me because I have been a watch nut since early childhood and found that the quality of the articles and discussions here is quite unique in the World Wide Web. What's more, their telling name enabled me to identify immediately with their motto. For I consider myself a purist too.

If I'm not sitting at my office desk and not playing around with watches, I spend my time with literature, photography, cooking, green tea and, of course, my family. By the way, I have the honour to moderate one of the forums here on ThePuristS, the Photography Forum. I love this place, we're like a small family.

Anything else? Oh, some pictures. After Steve's impressive portrait I almost didn't dare anymore... Anyway, here you are:
