...Always wanted a classic Omega Constellation with the bent lugs pie-pan dial. Either the 14900 or the 167.005 would do. I've been able to get the front-loading 168.025 and the Japanese market re-make with the 1011 movement. I honestly had written-off ever finding one with a decent dial at a reasonable price.
Found this one in a small jewelry shop that specializes in $1 quartz watch batteries. They had quite a few other collectible Omegas like a gold-tone 861 chronograph (could be 321, didn't look closely) and at least a half-dozen Seamaster DeVilles in various sizes. Without further ado:
It's a US market 14K gold case. Movement is cal 551 with 21M serial number (just for you, Graham). Someone replaced the top bridge with a non-chrono one. Watch is at the watchmaker, getting the correct bridge installed. Thank you Jules Borel!
Can't get a consensus on the crown. My guess is that it's a replacement, but it's more functional than the 10-sider. So I'm going to keep it this way for now.
Take care all,

Hi Gator,
it was a good decision to buy it despite the small issues which can be "mended" easily...
crowns are available on the XXXX all the time.
The condition of the case is stunning - all the crisp edges, never polished as it seems!
good purchase - congrats!
Erich
If I had to get one, it will be with these lugs and a black dial, if it ever existed...
Will end with one, I feel it.
Best, Gatorcpa.
Nicolas.
the problem is that i cant afford one at the moment
at least i know where there's a nice one when i have the money
it looks like a lovely piece and a crown is not the highest of priorities

Hi Bill, hi all,
I do not recall which watches I bought last year (for sure) as there were too many...
But concerning Omega this was one of my most important purchases last year:

kind regards
Erich
The caliber is 471, one of the first full rotor automatics...
What makes this watch stand out of the crowd is not the movement but
the rare dial (there is a "guess" of about 100 examples only...)
kind regards
erich
I suppose if I had to single out one then it woud have to be this one - my 1965/66 English cased 18ct Connie
But there again, I could say my 1945 WWW or my 1949 Seamaster Bumper or....................................

both were from 1964 so fit well into my collection.
Graham
Both are beautiful pieces.... and most important: 1964

Hi Bill,
this refers to the two Omegas I bought last year and among them one for my son.

These vintage Omegas are a class of their own!

But to be fair it is a good one...

Have a great week,
