if you remember last August, you posted me a special post titled "A special Sunday morning breakfast for Stefan Ma..."

i have finally found the same model as your friend's owned, but my one is in SS. i attach the pic and would like to share with you.

now, my collection of seamaster 600 is more or less complete, will try to take more pics of all these family members together and show you soon.

gold-tone hands and markers in your friend's watch looks so much handsome than mine. i think it should be a very rare bird which i have not seen this so far except your friend's one.

anyway, good to see most of these models are reunioning at my home now : -)

reading from the s/n on the movement, it shows 21xxxxxx which was made around 1964.

actually, it does not depend on how much i want to keep, but also how many watches i want to keep.

this is a process of watch collection, somehow will sell some of them and then only keep those are real keeper.

however, at the end of the day, i can bring all of these materials with me after all that day comes!

hi Graham, interesting, actually both dials are quite different, the font styles of numeral arabic are especially different too!

very interesting indeed, this Seamaster 600 model housed with Cal.601 has so many variants. it seems really hard to collect all of them into my collection. sigh!

actually the most treasure thing i got from this process is not only these wonders of vintage, but also to establish friendships from over the worlds. the most wonder thing in fact is that all of us have not met with each other so far )

anyway, i just check out my seamaster 600 watches, among them, i also find one with the same font of numeral arabic as yours. i attach the pic to share with you. i also attach another pic for the same font of numeral arabic as the latest one i got.

i must take more pics of all of them and share it here to those who are interested soon.

I am trying to choose between the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra with the 2500C movement, the one with white dial and gold hands and indexes (2503.34.00) and the one with the black dial and silver hands and indexes (2503.50.00), really sharp-looking, but I'm leaning to the white and gold, just classy-looking.  39.2 mm, I think they look nicer than the new SMAT with the 8500 calibre.  I think these posted pics are convincing me to go with the 2503.34.  We'll see.

considered the 600 and 601 interchangeable, the only difference is the style of regulator.

Contemporary watch appreciators probably expect to find inside exactly what is referenced on the outside.

My very first Omega also has a 600, although it is in a "Geneve" model which used to be regarded much closer to the
Seamaster than currently.  I bought it because some previous owner had courteously installed a display back, but still
I ended up with a beautiful and historically interesting watch:

Very nice Geneve.  I think your 600 is uncommon with its swan neck regulator.   The only 600 class movement I have in my collection is the later Geneve 602 chronometer.  At 33 mm and in 18k yellow gold its a classic dress watch...

after these years of collecting vintage watches, i realize that chances are always there. i found this rare bird - Geneve cal. 602 not with my intention at all. didn't know why that time, just had an instant thought in mind - why not try cal.602 this year, then i typed this numbers in the internet. one on sale for this watch just suddenly appeared in the search result. after 1 day or so the auction ended, i got the watch without many bidders! that's the story end and start!

i remember one time i have one conversation with Tony C. most important thing for watch collection is 'patient'! after that, at least one instant benefit is to reduce number of unnecessary watches buying.

anyway, i trust your piece will be coming soon, my thought is with you.

by the way, you may feel better after knowing this: the s/n of my cal.602 is 28xxxxxx, which means is not 1964.

as mentioned this display back predates me , I do not know the source.  I have several vintage watches purchased in Germany
that were equipped by the seller with display backs for a relatively nominal amount (about US$120 each), although I don't know
who actually performed the work.  One thing these all have in common is that they are snap back, I think that in this situation the
back is much more of a commodity, available in perhaps 10-12 standard sizes, steel or gold plate.  If this interests you send me
 a message and I will try to point the way.

On the other hand, I have one watch for which I did commission a back in the USA, and it is a screw-in.  The back is IMHO
 wonderfully crafted, perfectly sized and finished to match the watch, but it was expensive, only suitable for a similarly expensive
