. . . which should be arriving next year.  I don't feel a need for what essentially amounts to a  duplication of effort.  Next, the Pro has charms of its own, one being its underappreciation by some collectors who feel it's too common.

Commonness isn't a normally a virtue, but when it comes to Speedmasters, there's an 'ordinary' quality about 145.022 refs I find appealing.

To top it off, I just acquired an original Omega racing strap made for the rattrapante models almost twenty years ago.  It would fit a 105.012 but not the earlier references.  And 105.012s are far dearer than 145.022s.

So yes, cost is a factor as well.

. . . my decision for the re-issue, Nicolas.  In the abstract, an original 2915 / 2998 / 105.002 / 105.003 / 105.012 / 145.012 would have been preferable.  But because Omega made an effort to resurrect the legend, which was a  gesture to the collector community they didn't have to make, I felt their generosity deserved repayment.

If they issue a manual winding Rail with a resuscitated cal 284 movement, you can be sure I will be among the first in line to place a deposit.
