Audemars Piguet

I’m not sure FabR, sympathy isn’t tied so solidly to political adherence for all. The sentiment more than the politics is what matters.

I’ve said already, AP supporting improvement, through charities, in the lives of underprivileged youth makes me more proud to own one. Remember, faith based groups often do similar work. To admire the difference they can make doesn’t necessitate an adherence to those faiths.

With all due respect to everyone’s opinion.

I have to agree with FabR. Audemars has in 1992 created the Royal Oak foundation wristwatch,
which featured the image of a tree on the dial to support its charity of saving the planet and through
preservation of forests. This I found tasteful and beautiful.
But the image portrayed in this watch has an element of politics to it, and imho horology, as in sports, should be free
from politics and religion in such a manner ie iconography. Now if that’s ok with you that’s your opinion and entitled
to it. But what’s next for AP? A dial with the image of Jesus? It’s just not the right direction for a storied brand as AP.
It’s not a distaste for politics or religion that makes us feel this way, but rather our love for horology and AP.
Sincerely
H.

Yes, certainly. But environmental causes have and continue to be as much associated with political leanings as anything.

This entire Marvel affair has been way over scrutinized. I'm not scouring the minutiae as so many and reading into everything so much.
AP make incredible watches and have the most solid design platform in the business. That's what I enjoy and chose to focus on. Best

I am in agreement with you on solid design and incredible watches.

As far as this watch is concerned i have a differing opinion. It’s not just this one watch that we are discussing
but more so the direction AP is taking, the road it’s heading down so to speak.
As far as environmental causes being political, sure they can be. But saving a tree or planting one is far and away
less controversial in my opinion.
Best
H.

Very Cool

Pretty sure that's Michael B. Jordan, he's an actor from the first Black Panther movie and People Magazines sexist man alive 2020.

I think you're referring to LeBron James, known as "King James", NBA superstar.

No, the OP called him king and I still don't know who that is... LOL!

Please go easy on me! I just didn't pick up on the emoji and thought it was a reference to an actor from the movie. These damn face masks!
