To keep or not to keep?
I’ve owned this watch a few years now and noticed it’s very much neglected from my rotation. Although I absolutely love the look, I usually pick the 39mm ROC over the 41mm since it just wears better. Does anyone else have the same sentiment?
I found the opposite
I used to have the 39mm version and switched to the 41mm version, just like yours because I felt the 39 wore too small for me. I have a 7 in wrist.
From a visual proportion standpoint I agree the 41 looks great.
Specially the dark dials since white dials tend to look bigger. (See picture) However comfort of wearing the small one seems better. It doesn’t move around the wrist as much without the bracelet being too tight. That’s my observation. I also have a 7inch wrist.
I prefer the royal oak in 39 but somehow for the chrono 41 works
My main issue with this reference is the lack of a display back which in other high horology chronographs is always a treasure to behold.
I feel exactly the same-if it had the 4400
I have the 1502 and love it to death. However I would buy the ROC 41 hands down. Just waiting for them to have the new inhouse chronomovement 4400 they introduced in the 11:59 in them. Might take a long time What do you think? Will it ever happen?

That’s a fantastic idea. I think that’ll depend if the new movement is as slim as the Piaget movement. For me the extra slim profile is what makes the RO so special to wear. Maybe put the Bulgari chrono movement next? Ha ha [nt]

Yes the code 11:59 chrono is over 13mm thick, but I think that’s the case shape with the lug unit taking the extra space. The movement looks like it’s with the skeletonised rotor like the 15202 movement so I think it would fit the existing RO case. [nt]

I totally agree. I don’t understand why they still don’t have a display case back for the chrono. Chrono movements tend to be the most beautiful! [nt]

Not to keep. The size preference aside...
I tend to move any pieces I do not wear and enjoy. Surely if you have multiple pieces, it could mean rotating frequently, but if something goes unworn, I like to sell it. I think of myself more as a watch enthusiast and not a collector because of this.
I agree with you one hundred percent. At the point that a watch is not being worn and you are questioning its place in the collection
I think you've answered your own question. I tend to take a hard look at everything once a year and anything that sat and collected dust too much the previous twelve months is gently sent packing with the hopes of acquiring a more frequently worn replacement.

It is a taste question. A Royal Oak is not an ugly watch in my opinion, but there are watches that match my taste more.
And as i know what an everage Royal Oak costs, than i will go for a Breguet marine.

The 39 mm is probably the better size for many wrists.
I do like however especially this version of the chrono and for me it would be a keeper.

39 forever!!! 41 seems a fake AP at least to me...
But my Kasparov stays most of the time in the safe, so it’s a good candidate to leave the companion of my other watches...
