Curious to know the whole story behind the Deep Sea Vintage Chrono
I feel like this has been posted before, but I can’t find via the search.
Curious to know how/why JLC decided to release this reference shortly after the Tribute to Deep Sea US and Europe references, was it limited and if so, how many pieces, and was it only available at JLC boutiques? There’s not a ton of info online or on any of the watch blogs.
I love the fact that I will most likely never see anyone else wearing this watch, like ever. And if I ever do see one in the wild, I know the person wearing it would appreciate me noticing it, unlike a lot of owners of a more well known brand.
If anyone reading this post has any version of the Tribute to Deep Sea, I would love to see a photo and know where you are in the world. Here’s mine, and I live in the suburbs of Chicago USA.

Well, I will let certain members who might have been then and there chime in.. Here is mine, somewhere on the east coast.
A beautiful but sometimes forgotten reference
I am sure there are others who know much more than me. It was introduced in 2012 as a piece reimagined from the 50's/60's Deep Sea Alarm dive watch style of what might have been (not based on a prior real reference). It was a contemporary take of the retro style (including plastic crystal) but using a modern JLC movement 751. I do not believe it was a limited edition, but rather had a limited production run circa 2012-2013. Funny thing is, although I adore this watch (and its modern 3 register deep sea chrono equivalent which debuted a short time later) it does not seem to get a lot of love.
That really is a stunning looking Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph.
I am afraid I do not know the backstory to this great watch, I just know that I like it.

Nicolas (Amanico) sketched out the basic outline on a paper tablecloth during a dinner with Jérôme Lambert (first period as CEO of JLC)...
Jérôme didn't say anything to anyone and launched it... without revealing a word about its origins...

Super story
This is a cool story I don’t know. I kind of remember that JT was vintage inspired but not a tribute per se … but the story makes it unique. Might have know to locate another one, don’t recall why I let that one go must confess …
