From my outside perspective, Jerome the Group CEO did no favours for the brand where he realized his meteoric rise. There did not appear to be a lot of advancement in the movements after Mr. Lambert departed for Montblanc, especially at the more affordable end of the market. The occasional small movement in an oversized watch can be charming, but it is a reputational hit to the brand when it becomes the norm. A company known for its strong movement development stopped doing just that, instead following the best practice of the corporate luxury manual by raising prices and moving its entry products upmarket.
Let’s not forget Amvox 8!
I accept that this one might be tricky now that Aston are with GP. But you can always dream.
But they still can use some of the brilliant features of the Amvox line, such as the pivoting case of the " 2 ".
I welcome him back, he had a great run, but I’m not sure he can change much…

I hope so too, however this is like hoping for a miracle;)
The problem is not just the product it’s more the insane prices the brands set and I seriously doubt they will ever lower them, since they have to satisfy shareholders…
Sadly one can make a superb product all day if it becomes unaffordable.

When I first got into this hobby around 2009, JLC was one of my favourites. Like many others I hope he can bring back some of the intrigue and innovation, instead of iterations!

It’s time for Jaeger-LeCoultre’s horology to make a come back.
Daniel Riedo has slimmed the range (maybe it was necessary but it was bad for hard core fans).
Catherine Renier has made a lot on the « habillage » side but I can’t remember a calibre from her time there.
Now we want the watchmaker’s watchmaker back.
What will be probably difficult though will be to come back to decent prices!

Having already climbed to the top of the Richemont ladder, I'm hoping Mr. Lambert's is returning to JLC with passion and an intent to stick around for the long term.
Labeling an 8 mm thick running small seconds dress watch as ultra-thin suggests a brand that has collective amnesia of its watchmaking capabilities. Easy profits are seldom long lasting.
This is the environment that Jerome Lambert is returning to. The meat and potatoes lines are need to up their game in the face of advanced competition. We will get a chance to see whether Catherine Renier set up Mr. Lambert for a potential headwind. My eyes will be on the entry level products released, hopefully not an integrated bracelet watch that is five years too late.
The halo products have been consistently interesting, but JLC is currently a brand that needs to sell higher volume lines. Those are the products that must be compelling. I'm cautiously optimistic for Mr. Lambert's second tenure.
There is some place for both higher volumes and niche products. Jerome knew how to deal with that, when he was at the helm. Now, will he have the freedom he had when he was the JLC CEO, this is THE question.
All the brands know they've gone too far with price hikes so crossing my fingers that he brings back some value
It's hard to lower prices but what he can do is introduce new lines with better value so it isn't seen as lowering prices. It's the only way to surviv, the air has gotten very thin at the top price points.
Agree with MANY replies on this thread. If only one other company smartly got new leadership. i sincerely hope Patek Philippe is paying attention here.
