Every change a deterioration. Sometimes you should just leave it as it is. New editions always harbour risks. How glad I am that I have the original.
Your chronograph is absolutely beautiful.
And I like the fact that yours has the date - which I would find useful. I know some among us are less keen on the date

Agreed and yet...
The original has a warmth and purposeful design, neither of which are present to the same degree in the Tribute.
JLC should continue forward though. The Tribute Chronograph was better for taking the risk of reviving a great 1990s movement, a better direction than sticking the 751A/1 in a Reverso case.

The original is often best, and this is a good example of that. An exquisite piece, and great photos at that!

I wouldn’t go so far as to say every change is a deterioration…
Front tribute time1only face is a big positive to many. It’s clean and classic (yes you lose that the chrono is active but that’s a trade off). But I much prefer the new face’s look although not the loss of function.
Time on the chrono side is a massive upgrade.
Steel version available is an upgrade — I could be wrong but don’t think there was a steel version.
On the other side, size a big downside.
But I think there’s room for both.
