I can exclusively reveal - breaking the embargo, sorry Nico but the truth will always find a way: the OTHER side of the watch is identical, making this the FIRST WATCH EVER with a whopping SIX crowns.
JLC will be naming this watch the “Crown” after its defining feature in a spectacular bid to wrest the nickname away from Rolex. The companies’ respective legal counsels will be challenging each other to a duel immediately following SIHH. The winner will receive a prize consisting of the Comfort model Toyota Crown, also known as a “Crown Comfort”.
Pricing of the six-crown watch has been confirmed at 30 shillings. Only pre-decimalisation British currency will be accepted at authorised JLC boutiques.
Subsequent to the surprise coup in which the marketing departments of the Swiss watchmaking industry took over en masse from the engineering and design departments, it has been decreed in the Treaty of Biver that world firsts such as this must be revealed slowly and in stages to ensure maximum social media profile. Accordingly, the functions of the six record-breaking crowns will be revealed in approximately 3.5 months, on the 1st April.
