Horological Meandering

A detail which I didn't know. Interesting.

I really love this G.O, Art.

Best,

Truth be told . . .

. . . the Dornblüth manufacture movement and implementation is very compelling to my eyes, and more accessible in steel than any Senator Chronometer thus far.

In my own case, if money were no object, it would be a close call between the two.  Money being an object, though, my preference has to be weighted towards the watch from Kalbe.

Needless to say, these are two of my personal favorites in current production.

You have great taste, my friend. Will think about what you wrote. [nt]

I would vote for the GO. I wear one in white gold and it is so accurate and fun

to watch the second hand move to the exact minute mark.  It is very well finished and very elegant as well.

Good luck!

Eddy

Thanks Art

I like Dirk's watches, but in this case: I prefer the GO. The date doesn't bother me in the least. Many folks don't like my Breguet for the same reason (date window).

Still like the American most [nt]

For me, I would pick the GO...

I like the Lange and GO the most, found myself staring at their pictures the longest while reading your post.  (I find this is a good way to determine which watch I like the most.) However, the 1815, like your Breguet, has arabic numerals.  I think the GO, with the Roman numerals and white gold, will mix things up a little and complement your Breguet better.

Here's mine:

Hi

The two that stand out for me are the Lange and the GO.  But then I do like circular based power reserves.

Some thoughts

I will be making a trip to NYC during the first week of April and hopefully I will be able to see most of these watches (perhaps a bit early for the ALS but we'll see). For each of these watches, I have minor concerns to probe out a bit:

ALS - I need to see what the two sub-registers interrupting the chapter ring at 4 and 8 o'clock
BP - I am not sure that I can live with only 5 min. And 5 sec. markers and 3-barrels seems complex
FPJ - The flipped Arabic font puts me a bit off and long-term sustainability of brand beyond FPJ
GO - The size/weight has me a bit concerned (TBD)
PP - The uneven spacing of the Arabics and the small crown for winding
VC - The crown being so close to the lugs might make it difficult to wind

These are mostly things that I can find out when I see them in the metal.

In any case the Vacheron 1921

 By: Geo : March 19th, 2013-03:02
Classy, stylish, different and not in that boring round case with depressive lugs.
The 1921 is may be not for everybody, but the watch, to me, has everything what makes a watch attractive.
