Horological Meandering

This afternoon my wife asked me to take her to Brussels .... she had some shopping to do (i'd better married a man ... like Emilio ...) .

Dropped the wifey and went for some window-shopping ... near the Conrad ... .

Looks like a nice Audi RS4 ... errr.... what's that on the left ????

Looks like a nice store ... better check it out ....

Very nice and clean design, first time i see something like this in our little country ...

The very friendly staff immedeately threw some "stuff" on the table ... addictive stuff that is ... above a nice Kalpa Tonda ..

Nice lugs on this "Pershing" ...

... sorry for the poor pic .. "Pershing dial "..

My absolute favorite ... Tonda Hemispheres ... a dial to die for ... and those lugs are so sexy ... (sorry again for the poor pic).

If you want somethnig playfull ... try one of these BRM's ...

But if you want some serious stuff ... Tourbillon panoramique ...

A stunning Ti-Bridge flying Tourbillon ...

Great view ... i can look at this all day long ... .

Above : can we just call it the essence of Corum please ?

Another nice, very nice , surprise is this Blancpain Villeret .... seeing all these different kinds of watches makes it difficult to make a choice offcourse ...

I don't want to go to the moon, i want to own it ....

Another great JD ... dang ... i forgot to take pics of the Bethunes ... next time maybe ?

After thanking the friendly people at "Hall of time" it was time for me to kick off a bit ... maybe i'll find something that suits me (my budget at least) better in the toystore ...

I hope this trip was as pleasant to you guys as it was to me .... next time i'll be prepared to take some better pics ... . Filip

Thanks for the heads-up.  I stayed at Conrad Brussels before and that watch shop was not there.  The toy shop was there but too speacialised for my budget! 

The hotel restaurant took 59 minutes to bring out the cold soup (vichyssoise) from order-to-table at lunchtime.  Until then, I did not believe my friends who had warned me about the 'speed' of service in Belgium

I amused myself with the chronograph function on my watch......in those days, I wore a Citizen quartz chronometer grand complication (grande sonnerie, perpetual calendar, split seconds count-down/up chronograph, alarm, world time zone, diver)  hehehe

as for the Conrad .. you'd expect a five star hotel giving some kind of service .... it's not about the 'speed' in Belgium though ... more like the 'speed' in Brussels .... (excusez moi pour les Bruxellois) ... .
So i guess your chrono worked well my friend, sure it wasn't one hour and 59 minutes ?

Going back to the watch store, that is a fairly interesting looking store, very symmetrical. With a very unique "round" theme.

... a unique store indeed, the city of Brussels is not bad either ... but .. they could do a lot better IMO .... .

We lived in Belgium for about six years - our daughter was born there. We bought Christmas presents from that toy store more than once.

thanks for bringing back fond memories (there are no such stores here in Phoenix, Arizona).

As for the watches, we can always dream!

Yes, H.O.T is a HOT polace to be, with some nice temptations.

I agree with you with the Parmigiani Kalpa Hemisphere, which would certainly be THE Parmigiani for me.

Now the question is to know if you went out the shop with a " little something " for you...
