What would be on your radar for under $7500 USD?
So obviously my tastes are a bit eclectic, but for between $5k and $7.5k, there are some very interesting choices.
What would you put on there that is perhaps a bit off the beaten path (no subs, explorers, speedys or navitimers) would you consider that I may have missed?

So 42 is on the very upper side of what I like to wear nowadays.
45-51mm lug-to-lug is around the range.

Another unusual one would be the Carl F Bucherer Flyback Chrono in steel and grey dial. The movement is not spectacular, but the dial side is and the price is reasonable.
My final recommendation is to look at the Bvulgari Octo. I got really fascinated by the watch, every time I tried on my wrist. While it is actually not a Gerald Genta design, it has been developed out of the previous GG watches. There are many different dials and the movement is nice too.

I'm exactly in the same position as you
And I'm constantly looking for something a bit sportier to pair with my Habring Felix ( so I can definitely recommend Habring!). Watches I find myself coming back to, in no particular order are: Paul Gerber Synchron, MIH, Zenith El Primero 1969 38 mm, Rolex 16570 white dial, IWC Mark XV and Omega Speedmaster Ck2998 (the white and blue one). Sorry, for the last suggestions. I know you wanted to stay away from those.

I haven't seen the MIH or Paul Gerber in person (didn't stop me from buying the Felix though..), but when looking the last time around, I do remember the 512 blowing a lot of competition out of the water at that price point, including JLC. One of the few watches I had handled that felt 'worth' the 5k euro price tag
