We decided to take a short trip to desert before heat will be unbearable and scorpions start their biting season. Just a few hours drive from Khobar we headed towards beautiful rock formations in An Nafud region.
The rock is locally known as Devil Thumb. Then we headed across desert to some remote areas looking for wild camels and place to camp under the stars.

Best way to enter desert is via several gates or access points from main road. That is to ensure you are not getting into someone farm or pastures

Our convoy in full glory !

Main attraction was Devil Thumb

After quick survey we decided to head more west to find good place for dune bashing and camping

We found nice rock formations looking like camel heads

Another formations perfect for hide and seek games

Finally settled on place with rocks to our back and undisturbed view at the front

Camp fire and star glazing were major evening attractions

At the morning we were woken up by bunch of camels wondering around.

Way back home , with help of GPS

Just to add, despite no water around base Panerai was great companion. No seconds no date just enjoy time only watch
